Building Resilient Communities Through Targeted Farming and Conservation Projects
The agriculture industry is the backbone of Lebanon's economy, and the farmers of Akkar play a crucial role in its success. However, the challenges faced by these farmers, particularly in apple cultivation, have hindered their potential for growth and success. DTCare Lebanon recognized this pressing issue and has taken action through the Apple Program, a collaboration with Generation of Hope NGO, to bring about sustainable change and uplift the livelihoods of farmers in Akkar.
This initiative to address the challenges faced by farmers in the Akkar region is a much-needed step towards improved agricultural practices and community development. By implementing innovative techniques and training sessions, we aim to increase yields, reduce financial burdens, and promote gender inclusivity in agriculture. The success of this program has the potential to bring about a positive and long-lasting impact on the livelihoods of farmers.

DTCare and Generation of Hope are setting out to revive Akkar’s apple industry through an innovative apple program that helps to increase crop yields, as well as promote profits and gender inclusivity. Generation of Hope, a Lebanese non-governmental organization, specializes in community development and agricultural empowerment and advancement, making them the ideal partner to provide much-needed support and training to apple farmers in Akkar, Lebanon. Generation of Hope’s expertise and dedication to sustainable agriculture align perfectly with our program's goals overarching creating a positive, long-lasting impact on the livelihoods of apple farmers and transforming apple cultivation in the region through implementing an innovative training program focused on cutting-edge and sustainable farming techniques. Together, DTCare and Generation of Hope aim to not only revitalize the apple industry in Akkar but also create a more inclusive and sustainable future for the farmers and community.

These techniques are designed to optimize apple cultivation, with step-by-step instructions and hands-on training to ensure successful implementation.

Apple Program to Bring Success with Higher Yields, Improved Quality, and Reduced Crop Losses
Through the implementation of the Apple Program in North Lebanon, we expect to see a significant increase in crop yield and quality, as well as a reduction in financial losses caused by crop damage. By satisfying the growing demand for locally grown apples, we will measure our success based on the concrete achievements of these objectives, showcasing the beneficial impact of the program in the region.
