How is DTCare involved in America’s Favorite Teacher?
DTCare is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to assisting corporations, foundations, and individuals make a positive impact in the world. As DTCare is registered to solicit donations nationwide, we are able to accept donations from U.S. donors in all 50 states and then subsequently grant the funds to select, vetted charities that may not have the bandwidth to get registered themselves. For the America’s Favorite Teacher competition, DTCare will receive 100% of the donations, and we selected Teach For America as our designated grantee.
Where does the competition money go?
The donation to Teach For America will come from votes purchased through the competition. 100% of donations raised from votes purchased during the America’s Favorite Teacher competition will go directly to DTCare, which will subsequently grant the donation (minus competition fees/costs and a nominal percentage (1%) retained by DTCare), to Teach For America at the end of the competition. The donation will help support the organization’s mission to find, develop, and support equity-oriented leaders — individually and in teams — so they can transform education and expand opportunity with children, starting in the classroom.
How is the winner selected?
America’s Favorite Teacher is determined through public voting. Friends, family, and fans can vote for their favorite educator directly from the competitor’s America’s Favorite Teacher profile.
