Education Sponsorship
Investing in a Brighter Future for Underprivileged Youth
DTCare funds the schooling, board, and transport of youth attending school in-country and abroad to overcome some of the barriers to formal education, especially for girls and women. We expanded the DTCare Education Sponsorship Program initially focused in South Africa to Zimbabwe accessibility and inequality challenges in education that youth are grappling with. We aspire to be at the forefront of the movement that creates awareness and brings about change to make the world, and health care, more equal and accessible to women and girls everywhere.
DTCare sponsors 19 children’s education across Southeastern Africa. The program encompasses the complete funding of school and secondary education fees, boarding fees, and necessities such as bedding, carry bags, stationery, prescribed materials, uniforms, and additional tutoring. We are working closely with academic institutions to ensure that the children meet the education requirements and to equip students with the skills they need for higher learning.
Better Learning, Brighter Futures
Uplifting Youth Through Education Sponsorship
DTCare is committed to bridging the barriers preventing children and youth from receiving a quality education. Through our Better Learning Brighter Futures program we provide financial sponsorship, study visa assistance, tutoring resources, and additional support to make education accessible for youth in Zimbabwe and South Africa.
Sponsoring Schooling and Beyond
DTCare makes quality education accessible for children and youth in Zimbabwe and South Africa, but our efforts also go far beyond academics alone. Our priority is to prevent learners from falling out of school, stopping them from reaching their full potential and severely limiting their future study and employment opportunities. Even though we believe that quality education is essential for children to grow and strive, we also know that children and youth that can pursue opportunities outside the classroom, grow up to be well-rounded adults. Through DTCare’s Better Learning Brighter Program, we sponsor the formal education of 19 children and youth. As DTCare sponsors children and youth from underprivileged backgrounds, they rely on their scholarships for more than just their educational needs. DTCare’s Better Learning Brighter Futures sponsorship initiative also covers extracurricular activities, school outings, training and job-shadowing opportunities, school supplies, transport, school lunches, and additional learning resources to support our learners outside the classroom and provides all the tools they need to complete their formal education successfully.

Ryan got recruited to join the Harare North cricket team to play against university-level players as a freshman because of his incredible skills and work ethic. Shanice (right), aged 24, is one of DTCare’s first Better Learning Brighter Futures success stories. She completed a course in International Marketing at the Chinhoyi University of Technology and now works as an intern in the food industry researching sustainable business opportunities. DTCare continues to support Ryan’s passion for cricket and Shanice through her internship, including purchasing sportswear and sponsoring Shanice’s driving lessons and driver’s license, ensuring she can get to work safely.
Empowering Young Lives: Women Pursuing Medical Studies Achieve Success
Tadiwanashe Phiri and Beyonce Tinarwo graduated from a medical training course and internship on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health. Their studies included a two-month internship at the Harare Hospital, where they applied what they learned. They studied the challenges that adolescents face in their day-to-day lives, including the physical development of the body, sexually transmitted infections, adolescent relationships, stress, and the impact of substance abuse on individuals. They further explored interpersonal communication among adolescents, moral values, life skills, the use of visual aids, the counseling processes, and giving a group talk. Their dedication and hard work paid off upon graduation when they received certificates and celebrated with a reception. They aspire to apply their invaluable skills in their future medical pursuits.
Meet the Young People We Support
We believe in the power of education and that all children deserve access to quality education. Sadly, many children in Africa do not have access to educational opportunities. That is why DTCare launched our Better Learning Brighter Futures initiative—to empower children and youth through education in South Africa and Zimbabwe. Through our sponsorship initiative, DTCare funds the education of 19 children and youth. We believe that education can help youth build a better future for themselves and those around them. DTCare's Better Learning Brighter Futures initiative will help fund enrollment fees and learning materials, extra classes and tutoring, extracurricular school-related activities, as well as internet, transport, and lunch fees. The education sponsorship initiative caters to the particular needs of each child to help them make the most of their education.
